Myrtle (Mirt) Lee Brown was born June 14, 1930 in Austin County, San Felipe, Texas to Roosevelt and Cora Brown.
She attended school in San Felipe, Texas. Mirt was a cook by trade, working at the Fort Bend Steak House in Katy, Texas for many years. She accepted Christ at an early age in the Baptist Church, and was a lifetime member of New Prairie View Baptist Church where she attended regularly until her health failed. She is preceded in death by Father, Mother, three children, Alice Jean, Charles Ray, and Edward James, two sisters Jeanette Jones and Ruthie Robinson. She leaves to cherish her memories: children, Wilma Lewis, Claudia Harris, Freddie Ruth Tate (Thomas), Larry Scyrus (Brenda), Minister Esther Cooper, Brady Brown, Myrtlene Tillman (Curtis) and Earsel Brown; seventeen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and thirty-seven great great grandchildren; sister, Willie Mae Harris; and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. |
