Cousin to Knolle William "Fritz". Enlisted March 22, 1862 at Industry, TX by Bader in front of Knolle house with Fritz Knolle and others. Captured at Yazoo City July 14, 1863. Arrived at prison Aug 14, 1863. Transferred to Ft. Delaware Feb 26, 1865. Kept a diary used in the book Waul?s Texas Legion, 1862-1865, by the Hasskarls in 1985 (out of print). Diary privately held by descendants. s/o Ernst Hyman Knolle Captured at Yazoo City on July 14, 1863. Received at Camp Morton on Aug 14, 1863. Transferred for Exchange on Feb 26, 1865.
