2021
Robert Louis Moss, 72, of Humble, passed away on Sunday, May 16, 2021, at in Humble.

Robert Louis "Bob" Moss was born on November 11, 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama to Louis Moss and Joyce Marcus Moss, and went to be with our gracious Lord and Savior on May 16, 2021.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Joyce Moss.

Bob is survived by his wife, Catherine Verm-Moss of 23 years; and 3 children, Bryan Moss and wife, Stacy, of Sugar Land, Ashley Moss Crowl and husband, Michael, of Austin, and Brian Verm and wife, Sonia, of Humble; 9 grandchildren; brother, Mike Moss and wife, Nora, of Pasadena; and brother Bruce Moss and wife, Kathleen, of Houston; aunt, Gurtie Runnels of Petal, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was an extraordinary human being. He was a loyal son, protective brother, loving husband, patient father, fun uncle, proud grandfather, and friend you could always call on. Bob never knew a stranger.

From the time Bob was a young child, he knew he wanted to work in architectural and engineering design. He was an active child and adolescent, loved to build, draw, and constantly learn. While at South Houston High School, he played football, ran track, and held a part-time job. After graduating, Bob attended San Jacinto College and became the youngest quality control inspector on the Apollo Mission space program at Johnson Space Center. A great job for a college freshman with an opportunity to meet several astronauts, which he took full advantage of.

Bob then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force attaining the rank of Sergeant leading a team of aerial mapping specialists in the intelligence agency during the Vietnam War. During this time, he also started a family with his high school sweetheart who he had wed a couple of years earlier. After dutifully serving his country, Bob spent 50 years in drafting and design, his career spanning from working in Fortune 100 companies to owning his own drafting business, RLM Drafting & Design, and everything in between. Throughout, Bob was a consistent volunteer in his community and church, coach of his children's sports teams, and served in several professional non-profit organizations and associations.

Always looking for ways to connect with others, he was always game for gathering with his brothers, family, and buddies over a round or two of golf. Bob also enjoyed hosting large groups of family and friends at his Hill Country home and taking them boating on Lake Travis. Like clockwork every fall, one would find Bob and his son at the deer lease on weekends mostly spending time enjoying nature and talking about life. Bob found many ways to bring together those he loved. He will be missed dearly. Yet, we are comforted knowing we are blessed to have received his love and friendship.

The family will receive friends on Friday, May 21, 2021, in Sealy, TX. The Celebration of Life service will begin with a visitation 12:00 pm-1:45 pm at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel on 1140 Meyer Street in Sealy, TX followed by a 2:00 pm service at St. Mary's Catholic Church on 10471 Grotto Rd. in Sealy, TX.
