Jan
Jan was born in Hovezi, Vsetin District, Czech Republic. Jan had to remain in the Czech Republic to serve his military obligations along with his older brother, Josef Bogar. Jan and Josef wasn't able to come with their parents, Rosalia Sula and Martin Bogar, their sister, Anna, and younger brother, Pavel to Texas in 1911. Jan first arrived in Boston, Mass. about 1921, and than traveled to Texas. Brother, Josef, decided to go back to the Czech Republic.

Jan married Annie Kutra, a daughter of Anna Vesely and John Kutra, on February 10, 1925 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Frydek, Austin County, Texas. They had children, Albina, Ludmilla " Lillie", and Louis " Bo". Unfortunately, Annie died soon after Louis was born June 3, 1931 from postpartum hemorrhage. Jan realized that he would be unable to take care of his three young children and bring in the cotton crop. So Annie's parents took care of baby Louis, and three year old Lillie. The oldest, Albina, five years old, was taken care of by Albina Kutra and Frank Vancik.

Jan learned of a single lady from Moulton, Karolina " Carrie" Rothbauer, and soon married her on August 1, 1932. Their marriage license was filed in Austin County, Texas. Jan was able to bring all his children together again. They lived in Moulton for a few years. On June 15, 1934, Jan and Karolina had twins born in the Shiner Hospital, which was the first set of twins born in that hospital. Frances and Frank joined the growing family. Sometime in 1937, Jan decided to move the family back to the Frydek area to be near his first wife's family and his father, Martin, and brother, Paul, and his family.

Jan died in 1946 at home in Frydek from a brain aneurysm . Carrie and the children had to bring in the crops. By this time, the oldest daughter, Albina, had married on February 12, 1947, and living with her husband on the Mlcak farm. Late 1949, Carrie married her brother in law, Paul, who was a widower. Approximately eight months later, Paul died in 1950 from a brain aneurysm, also.
