Leona Ann Buchala began her journey through time on January 4th 1944 in Sealy Texas. She was the first born daughter of Joe & Josephine Stavinoha. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic School & Sealy High School in 1962. On October 21 1967 she married Clem Buchala in ceremony at Immaculate Conception Church & to this union their daughter Nancy & son John were born.
Leona was a very creative person with a love of flowers that she applied to business that she named Leona's Flowers And Crafts in downtown Sealy in the 1980's. Later she was a caretaker of the elderly. She was very devoted to her family & an excellent kolache baker. Her tremendous faith in God was an inspiration to all who knew her as it helped her press through many setbacks in her life without a complaint. The most difficult of which was the loss of her daughter Nancy 10 days short of her 16th birthday in 1985. Leona was a member of St Mary's church in Frydek where she served as director of religious education for many years & taught many of the classes. Always willing to do her part she worked at the church picnics & recently was in charge of religious articles sales. She truly ran the good race & fought the good fight & is now enjoying the special rewards designed for her in eternity past. Leona entered the eternal state on September 12, 2016 with a special dying grace blessing goodbye for her family. She will be missed! Leona is preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Buchala; parents, Joe & Josephine Stavinoha; brother, Joe Stavinoha, Jr., nephew, Joseph Stavinoha, III; brothers-in-law, Joe Hughes, Timothy Buchala and George Litvik; father and mother-in-law, William & Victoria Buchala. Leona is survived by her husband of 48 years, Clem Buchala; son, John Buchala; sisters, Irene McAlexander & husband, William and Loretta Hughes; brothers, Larry Stavinoha and Garry Stavinoha & wife, Kathy Beth; sisters-in-law, Rubie Buchala, Dorothy Litvik, Lorraine Buchala and Connie Mock & husband, Walter; brothers-in-law, David Buchala & wife, Dorothy and Terry Buchala. Leona is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. A visitation with the family will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Frydek on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 5:00-7:00PM followed by a rosary at 7:00PM. A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at 2:00PM. Interment will follow the service at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
