Charles Frank "Jack" Bolten died Tuesday, January 24, 2017, in Sealy, Texas, at the age of 98 years old. He was born Decemberr 24, 1918 in Rosenberg, Texas to Charlie and Melinda (Michel) Bolten. He married Gladys Lora Pless on March 12, 1942.

Jack retired in 1982 from Nabisco Co. after 26 years of service. He loved to fish, work in his garden, mow yards, and do mechanic work. He also loved to play bingo and 42, and go gambling and traveling with wife, Gladys. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy for many years. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and he dearly loved his 5 children, 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Bolten; his parents, Charlie and Melinda (Michel) Bolten; son, Charles E. Bolten; grandchild, Jeffery Franke; grandchild, Jody Bolten Richter; grandchild, Janet Havemann; great-grandchild, Brandon Havemann; and son-in-law, Jesse Franke; sisters, Alma Schroeder, Mabel Hering, Willie Mae Viereck, and Henriette Janecek; and brother, Deroy Bolten.

Surviving Jack are his daughters, Nettie Havemann, Charlene Sowa and husband, Andrew, Linda Ratjen and husband, Lawrence; and son, David F. Bolten; daughter-in-law, Deborah Bolten Davis; and brother-in-law, Floyd Pless and wife, Jean; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces.

Pallbearers: Roy Gene Havemann, Russell Havemann, Rodney Havemann, Mark Sowa, Joe Mike Young, and Charlie M. Bolten. Honorary pallbearers: Royce Janca, Donnie Sklar, Mark McClellan, Pat Lester, Glenn Richter, and all of the great grandsons.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, 2:00 pm, from Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy, with Pastor Kenneth Bersche officiating. Interment in Sealy Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in memory of Jack, or charity of your choice.
