Blazek, Jacqueline Ann (Scrogin) (1936-2018)
Blazek, Jacqueline Ann
Obituary
2018
Jacqueline Ann Blazek received her call to come “Home” on August 11, 2018. She would be the first to tell you that her work here is done and that new adventures await. A lifelong woman of faith, she has been reunited, a pain free and healthy, with family and friends that have gone “Home” before her.

Born July 16, 1936 to Bernard and Bessie Scrogin of Wallis, Texas, she was the oldest of three children. Jackie’s childhood was filled with travel with her parents and two sisters, Marilyn and Betsy. Her parents also instilled in her and her sisters that value of family, a strong belief of God and living according to His word, and their inherent obligation to serve others.

Jackie graduated from Wallis High School and received an Associate Degree from Wharton County Junior College. She shortly thereafter married the love of her lift Alvin Joe Blazek in Hunstville, Texas. They returned to Wallis and ultimately moved to Richmond, Texas where Jackie was employed with the Lamar Consolidated ISD as an instructional aid. She positively impacted countless numbers of young people throughout her career and life. She was a lifelong member of Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion of Wallis. Jackie was a dedicated wife and mother who believed it was her responsibility to support her husband and daughters first and worry about herself later. She acquired, through her outgoing and high energy nature, an array of friends that she enjoyed spending time with. Playing Bunco, “42”, golfing, fishing, playing Wahoo, and trips to Las Vegas were just some of the activities that involved both family and friends throughout her life and it was truly “a life well lived”.

The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to Jackie’s special friends Thelma Steamer and Jackie Jackson. They provided support and care during very difficult times. There are angels on Earth because there is no other way to describe the attention and love these two brought into Jackie’s life. A heartfelt thank you also to the caregivers that touched her life and ours. You are all very special people.

Jackie is survived by her sister Marilyn Baker of Houston, Texas, daughter Pamela and husband Richard Puig of Fredericksburg, Texas, daughter Paula and husband Michael Lanier of Garwood, Texas. Affectionately called “Nanny” she is also survived by granddaughter Alyson and husband Kevin Hoffman of Matthews, Texas and granddaughter Emily Puig of Los Angeles, California. She is also the great grandmother to Wade, Kyle and Kyndal Hoffman.
