J.E. ("Jim") Creekmore was born in Greenville, Texas, on March 13, 1931, to Leroy Creekmore and Tensie Covington Creekmore. Jim passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at the age of 88 years old as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Saturday, October 26, 2019.

Jim served in the United States Army from August 1952 to August 1954. He was assigned to H&S Co. 317th Tk Bn at Camp Stewart, Georgia.

Jim was always a hard worker and could fix pretty much anything. He owned Creekmore Roofing and later opened Creekmore Lumber & Hardware in Sealy, Texas, which he operated for many years.

Jim was a member of the Sealy American Legion for 48 years. He was a long-time member of Texas Farm Bureau and South Texas Cattleraisers Association.

Jim married Deanna Noble Craig on October 10, 1987, at West End Baptist Church in Industry, Texas. They made their home in Sealy, Texas.

Jim is survived by his wife of 32 years, Deanna, of Sealy; his son, Alan Creekmore and wife, Linda, of Buda; and daughter, Jeanette Matula and husband, Pat, of East Bernard. Jim was known as "Paw Paw" to his grandsons, James Alan Creekmore and wife, Jami, of Canyon Lake, Alex and Mason Matula of East Bernard; and granddaughter, Katie Byers and husband, J.D., of Guam; and great-grandchildren, Emerson and Hunter Creekmore, James and Blake Byers, and Henley Matula. Jim is also survived by Deanna's daughters, Kathryn Toman and husband, Dale, of Bellville, and Jo Honeycutt and husband, Larry, of San Marcos. Jim was known as "Paw Paw Jim" to Deanna's granddaughter, Jacquelyn Toman, of Houston; and grandson, Drew Toman, of Sealy; and great-grandchildren, Jaxson, Karsen, and Walker Toman. Jim is survived by one sister, Patsy Creekmore Spearman; daughter-in-law, Terri Creekmore; and numerous nieces and nephews, stepchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna Creekmore; brother, Leray Creekmore; and sisters, Kathryn James and Vadie Spearman.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, November 4, 2019, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Knesek Bros. Funeral Chapel, 1140 Meyer Street, Sealy, Texas 77474. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Sealy Cemetery, 768 Fourth Street, Sealy, TX 77474.
