Dana Rae Ekarius, 46, of Sealy, went to her eternal home on May 21, 2018. Dana was born in Bellville, TX on September 29, 1971 to Vernon and Bev Ekarius of Sealy. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sealy. Dana graduated from Sealy High School in 1990. She attended Blinn College in Brenham where she earned an Associate’s Degree in Office Technology. Over the years, Dana worked in numerous retail stores in the area and was most recently the manager of Samsonite in Katy Mills Mall. Dana was a determined lady who overcame many obstacles throughout her life. Although faced with medical and some physical challenges, with God’s help, she always persevered. Anyone who had the opportunity to know her, loved her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved them deeply. Dana enjoyed travelling, especially going on cruises. Her cat, Rascal, brought much joy to her life. She loved the Lord and was happy to share her faith with all who she came in contact with.
Dana is survived by her parents, Vernon and Bev Ekarius of Sealy; sister, Kristie, and husband, Darin Pacher, of Huntsville; nephew, Chase Pacher, of Huntsville; niece, Paige Pacher, of Huntsville; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Dana is preceded in death by her grandparents, Elmo and Oridell Ekarius of Sealy and Bob and Evelyn Koym of Orchard. Visitation will be Friday, May 25, 2018, 5:00 – 7:00pm, at Knesek Funeral Home, Highway 36 Chapel, 1140 Meyer, Sealy, Texas. The funeral will be held Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Knesek Funeral Home, Highway 36 Chapel at 10:00 am. Interment at the Sealy Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to LifeBridge Community Church, 2162 FM 2187, Sealy, Texas 77474. |
