Cause of Death

Rosenberg Herald, September 14, 1951:

Anton P. Hruzek of near here died shortly after being brought from Houston by cab to the local police station about 8 a.m. Thursday morning. An investigation is being held and the verdict of the cause of the death had not been determined when The Herald went to press at noon.

Mr. Hruzek, who was apparently between 25 and 30 years old, lived between Orchard and Beasley, it was said. The cab driver said he picked the man up in Houston and he paid his fare to Rosenberg and that when they reached Stafford, he knew the man was sick and he wanted to stop and get a physician but that Hruzek insisted on coming on here. Dr. John Roll pronounced him dead. He died a few minutes after the cab driver brought him to the police station

He had been released from a Houston hospital the 10th of this month, records show. A Justice of the Peace from Sugar Land was holding an inquest.
